The Indonesia Securities Investor Protection Fund (Indonesia SIPF): Guarding Investor Funds in the Capital Market

Investor protection in the capital market focuses on protecting funds, assets and capital that has been deposited. This is due to the importance of maintaining trust in investors who give trust to capital market institutions. This study aims to examine more deeply the protection of investor capital in the implementation of Indonesia Securities Investor Protection. The method used in this study is normative juridical with a statute approach and a conceptual approach. Indonesia SIPF is organized by PT Indonesia Securities Investor Protection Program Organizer (P3IEI). Lost funds for Single Investor Identification (SID) owners who are placed with Securities Dealer Brokers (PPE) or Custodian Banks can be recovered as long as both parties are included in DPP Members. In addition, there are technical steps that must be carried out by investors to submit claims for loss of funds. In the United States, Investor fund protection is through the Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC). SIPC coverage is available in two different situations, namely insolvent companies or bankrupt companies.
